Maiken Skeem is a Danish freelance journalist and communication advisor specialised within Health Communication. She works primarily for Medicinske Tidsskrifter, but also for WHO, Nordsjællands Hospital and Magasinet Forkant as well as various other customers.
From 2014-2016, Maiken was living in a small French village close to Geneva in Switzerland from where she was working for Danish media.
From 2012-2014 Maiken was living and working in Yangon, Myanmar. In Myanmar Maiken was writing for the Danish National Newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad – and was a part-time consultant for DanChurchAid (Folkekirkens Nødhjælp).
Maiken has worked as a communication advisor in international companies and organisations in Copenhagen (Coloplast, Boehringer Ingelheim, Dako (Agilent Technologies), Save the Children and the Danish Cancer Society.)
Maiken has previously lived and worked as a journalist for three years in Southeast-Asia (Cambodia and Bangladesh).
Maiken holds a Master degree in French language and Communication from Aarhus University and has taken supplementary courses in news journalism at the Danish School of Journalism (DJ).
Besides her native Danish, she speaks English and French fluently.
